Let them eat cake...or pie, or cookies, or doughnuts...

It's not all about the cake anymore! Although choosing a beautiful wedding cake is still the choice of many brides and grooms for dessert time at their wedding, we saw many of our couples go for a variety of options for their guests in the form of a dessert table this year. Some chose just a small cake or even a big cake, for those that still wanted to partake in that classic wedding tradition, decorated with icing or fondant, and accented with flowers, feathers, fresh fruit or even berries and pine cones. Then couples added a few other fun treats to the mix as well for their festive dessert tables. We saw everything from mini cupcakes and cake pops in a variety of flavors, to chocolate covered strawberries, whoopie pies, cookies, mini doughnuts, and even homemade pies! I love the creativity couples are showing with this trend! What will you choose for dessert? Dan & Carly's Wedding Highlight Video - The Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge

Dan & Carly met at a bike shop that Dan was working for at the time, which is so fitting seeing as they're both a lover of the mountains and the outdoors and the design of their wedding truly reflected that with a rustic Colorado and aspen theme throughout. They had a beautiful ceremony at the historic St. Mary Catholic Church in Breckenridge followed by an amazing reception up at the Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge. They mixed in a photo session on Boreas Pass Rd. (one of my favorite spots in Breck) and had a lovely pink sunset looking back towards the slopes to end the evening.
